President Donald Trump said on Monday that U.S. authorities would begin next week removing millions of immigrants who are in the United States illegally.
“Next week ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States,” “They will be removed as fast as they come in,”
No specifics were mentioned.
Will Trump Remove Illegal Immigrants?
Here’s the question. Is this for real? Well, yes, the tweet and statements are for real. But will illegal immigrant deportation actually begin, and in apparent earnest as is suggested (removing millions)?
I cannot even begin to imagine the backlash from the Democrat side as well as the mainstream news media! This is going to be one heck of a show (if it actually begins). Better get the popcorn ready…
According to a Reuters statement, ” There are an estimated 12 million immigrants who are in the United States illegally, mainly from Mexico and Central America.”
Many believe the real number is probably double that, if not more. However that’s not the point here.
The point is, “if” ICE (and whatever assisting agencies) actually begin a campaign to pick up and deport illegal immigrants, there’s going to be a s#!t storm like you’ve never seen.
The powers-that-be will ‘activate’ the ‘talking heads’, the ‘mobs’ of ‘useful idiots’, and whatever else they can do to go ‘all in’ to stop this.
Mark my words… the first thing that fake news media will likely do is to seek out a woman and her child, crying, as they are taken into custody – for maximum effect on television. They will ignore showing you the gang members, drug dealers, and other ‘bad’ people as they are ‘removed’.
Why does the ‘left’ and their ‘powers-that-be’ want illegal immigration, and why would they be against removing any of them?
In my view, because those factions want and need illegal immigrants in their districts to influence how those districts are represented in Congress (census data, redistricting, etc.), and they need them to vote (vote ‘left’ for ‘free stuff’). It’s not about what’s best for the country, it’s about power. Period.
One report suggests that Trump’s figure of “millions” may be overblown:
The president’s claim that ICE would be deporting “millions” also was at odds with the reality of the agency’s staffing and budgetary challenges. ICE arrests in the U.S. interior have been declining in recent months because so many agents are busy managing the record surge of migrant families across the southern border with Mexico.
Trump does embellish and exaggerate. It’s simply his personality. So, do you think it might just be a few hundred or a thousand “for show”? Or will this new push be more than that? What’s your instinct?
The AP reports, ” Some in Trump’s administration believe that decisive shows of force — like mass arrests — can serve as effective deterrents, sending a message to those considering making the journey to the U.S. that it’s not worth coming.”
No doubt that’s true. But only if there’s follow-through and evidence of actually deporting illegal immigrants in numbers that instill deterrence.
Trump will formally launch his re-election campaign today (tonight) in Orlando, Florida. There’s little doubt in my mind that this announcement of deportation is certainly timed as such.
But will it actually happen? That is the question. One of them anyway…
By the way, I am not anti immigration. Don’t get me wrong. I am for legal immigration. Why? Because we the people (via our representatives) should have a say in policy thereof. After all, we’re paying the tab. That’s reasonable, yes?
There are few details what Trump’s current plan entails. However I am for particular attention towards those crossing our border illegally. First the bleeding needs to be stopped. A deterrence established. Then we can talk policy on what’s left. That’s my general position.
Until now however, unfortunately the bleeding has actually become worse under Trump. Although I fully understand the coordinated efforts to increase the flow while hindering his attempts at stopping illegal immigration. We’ll see what happens…
